World’s Largest Collection of Map Postcards

Over the last forty years, Rip has collected map postcards (postcards depicting maps of cities, countries and areas of interest), curating what is now the world’s largest private collection of map postcards.

 

Trombone Player

Rip played trombone in high school in the JEB Stuart marching band and the Jazz Ensemble.

 

Winner of the Top Innovator Award in Mobile

The CTIA (the world’s largest wireless consortium) awarded Rip Gerber The Top Innovator In Mobile in 2013. The award honored Rip Gerber as a mobile champion and visionary who is transforming the mobile ecosystem.

 

Patent Holder

Rip holds a patent with the United States Patent Office for a technology process he created for mobile location privacy.

Birth of the Modern-Day Euphonium

Rip’s great great grandfather, Alfred James Phasey, is the inventor of the modern-day euphonium, and played in Queen Victoria’s private band.
