Rip Gerber. Innovationist, Author, Musician

For the past twenty-five years, Rip Gerber has built, managed and sold public- and venture-backed companies in technology and biotech, serving in CMO, CEO, GM and board member roles. He is currently President of Petram Partners LLC, a Canadian real estate firm. Rip is also a best-selling author.

Most recently he served as SVP and CMO of C3.ai, and as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Innovation Officer of Vlocity, Inc, a three-time Forbes Cloud 100 company (2017, 2018, 2019). He joined the company shortly after its inception and helped build Vlocity to become the fastest-growing enterprise SaaS company in cloud history, culminating in a $1.5B acquisition by Salesforce within five years. Recently he served as founding board member, investor and operating executive for Copado, Inc,

Rip holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He holds two patents in location technology algorithms. Other interests include being a best-selling international author (Random House), performing music, and drudging through marathons. He has served as an early investor and founding board member of several technology companies, including Aratana Therapeutics (NASDAQ: PETX, sold to Elanco in 2019).
